Hair Prep

Proper hair preparation is essential for the best results. Please read the information below carefully before your appointment.

Washing Your Hair

  • Hair must be freshly washed before your appointment.

  • Avoid heavy creams or leave-ins that can cause build-up.

Tips

  • Use a clarifying shampoo first to remove product build-up, dirt, and oils.

  • Follow with a moisturising shampoo to restore hydration to the hair.

  • A moisturising conditioner is essential

Detangling & Stretching

  • Please arrive with your hair fully detangled from root to tip.

  • Blow-drying is included in your service unless you request no heat.

  • If you request no heat, you must arrive with your hair already stretched (via banding, threading, braids, or twists).

Product Use

  • Avoid using heavy oils, butters, gels, or edge control before your appointment.

  • Clean, lightweight hair helps braids grip better and last longer.

Additional Important Notes

  • Excessive shedding, matting, or tangling may result in an additional detangling fee or rescheduling.

  • Please inform me in advance if you have sensitive scalp, alopecia, or any scalp conditions.

  • If hair is not properly prepped, your appointment may be delayed, shortened, or cancelled.

Why Hair Prep Matters

Good hair preparation:

  • Helps braids look neater and last longer

  • Prevents unnecessary breakage

  • Ensures your appointment runs smoothly and on time
